I am beyond grateful to accept this beautiful donation in honor of "Platoon Mom Jane," Jane Gibe, who had a beautiful collection of yarn. She always created and donated blankets, hats, and booties to local hospitals and organizations in her community.

I am honored to continue in her footsteps, using her collection of yarn to create mats + blankets for local animal shelters, hats + booties to local hospitals as well as use some additional supplies for local workshops to inspire the next generation's love of knitting and crochet.

Thank you so much to her husband for reaching out with this gift to ensure his wife's love for caring and creating for those in need continues. I sincerely wish I could have met her and created alongside her ❤️

🏃‍♂️FUN FACT:🧶 While his time may not have beat any records, David Babcock beat this GWR record while running the 2013 Kansas City Marathon.

He started knitting around the same time that he started training, and after struggling to find time for both passions, he paired them together.

He beat Susie Hewer's previous knit record, made while running the London Marathon.

In honor of Susie Hewer's previous achievements in this field, he ran for the same Alzheimer's Research charity that Susie runs for.

🐾 New puppers alert! 🦴

@j9beth (with the wonderful @renegades_handmade crew) requested some more dog doppelgangers, and I couldn't say no to recreating this adorable duo!

My table and desk were covered in stuffie parts, but it was worth every minute of sewing them all to see them both together!

Both of these wiggle-butts were made using an amazing pattern by @projectarian , whose beautiful colorwork is giving magical Lisa Frank vibes-definitely check out her page!

This ballerina doll finally waltzed off to its final studio- it's new home 🥰

Making and pairing all the outfits had me feeling like I did playing with fashion plates (back in the 90s)🤣 - It was soo much fun to mix + match.

I am so grateful to the extremely talented pattern maker, @greenfrog.crochet , for this wonderful creation.

It was an easy customizable project- Just vary hair color and skin color to create a keepsake gift that will look like it's new friend 🥰

I made these blankets as wedding presents for my siblings: one monogramed and the other centered with two intertwined trees of life.

The handfasting cord was made by me for my own wedding ceremony-a tradition in many cultures, including my own.

Cable-knitting is my favorite, so I LOVED making these custom heirloom pieces.

🩰A backstage sneak peak🩰

Adding the final touches to this ballerina doll stepped me back to my own decades spent in a ballet studio- full of worn point shoes, the smell of rosin boxes, endless bobby pins, annual nutcrackers, and hectic recitals. Needless to say, this project is a special one. 🥰

From slippers, to scrunchies, to a colorful set of tutus, making these all has been such a joy. I can't wait for this gift to brighten a little girl's day! Stay tuned for the full set!

🏵️Fully shifting into Wedding Expo. mode🏵️

Corners of my house have been taken over by tulle, yarn, beads, and embroidery floss, BUT I can't wait to finally have a reason to add some samples to my Willow Collection--custom heirloom wedding pieces crafted to pass down! (Yes, I named this collection after my beautiful collie, Willow the Wisp 🤣)

🏵️Had to pause for a little embroidery appreciation 🏵️

I had a leftover birdie that was too big for my Sparrows in the Meadow mobile and couldn't let it go to waste! It was the perfect little canvas to test out some embroidery + I'm glad I did!

It's been sitting on my coffee table with another WIP, and I had to snap a quick picture of the cute color combo.

The oldest surviving pair of "true" knit socks, completed with two needles, are from Egypt.

They are part of a collection, and can be found on the George Washington University Textile Museum's online archived collection- a beautiful, dark indigo-blue + white pattern with a star pattern on the toe. These beauties make me want to travel back to the Middle-Ages and learn the dying practices they used to keep these colors so fresh for so long!! 😂😂

🏵️NEW- Sparrows in the Meadow Mobile🏵️

This mobile took me more time than usual to design, while I imagined butterflies with retro daisies, each type of butterfly I made didn't look right. After a few days of not knowing what else to add, my ever so patient partner, @paul_k_all_day (who always humors my endless "look at this" commands), simply said- "what about those birds you make?" And so it was made 😂😂

This knit + crochet mobile is part of my Nest Collection and will be on display on Jan. 24th at @sweetbayhomeandgift . Each bird, leaf, and daisy is made by hand to bring a touch of whimsy warmth to any nursery, playroom, or classroom.
